Cold Weather Driving In Texas

While it just turned Spring this week, there is still a chance that certain parts of Texas may experience cold weather in the coming days.  Texas has made several helpful guides on safe driving during cold weather plus mentions the need for an emergency kit.  Here are those resources:

In the last resource (from Austin) it reads:

Stock Your Vehicle

Keep the following on hand for an emergency:

Ice scraper for your windshield and abrasive material such as sand or kitty litter, in case your vehiclegets stuck in the snow.

Jumper cables, flashlight, and warning devices such as flares and emergency markers.

A cell phone, cell phone charger and blankets for longer trips or when driving in lightly populated areas.

 

Also consider keeping some food and water in your car and clothing which can handle cold weather.
