Texas Driver License and Motor Automobile Facilities Steadily Opening with Restricted Providers – CBS Dallas / Fort Value

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – If you are one of the many people who has been waiting for your driver’s license for months, you can do so from May 26th.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) centers across Texas will reopen Tuesday morning. There are plans to protect people from the novel coronavirus.

Governor Abbott closed driver service centers on March 19, and the state is gradually reopening them.

The North Texas DPS Driver’s License Centers will reopen on June 3rd. Appointments can be made from May 29th. DMV’s Dallas and Fort Worth locations are open Tuesday, May 26th.

At DMV, all personal services are only available for appointments on the same day or the next day.

You can book an appointment months in advance at DPS driving license centers. These centers are limited to first-time Texan drivers who require a driver’s license, as well as drivers who must take a test, for personal service.

Customers must go in alone unless a caregiver is required.

The state’s temporary waiver of vehicle title and licensing requirements remain in place – however, many drivers can continue to renew their driver’s license online.
