AUSTIN, Texas (KWTX) – The March exemption granted by Governor Greg Abbott for Texas Drivers’ Licenses, Commercial Drivers Licenses, Commercial Study Permits, ID Cards, and Voting ID Certificates expires on April 14, 2021, and in Texas the Department of Public Safety on Tuesday urged those who that need to be renewed to make appointments now.
In order to speed up the extension, the opening times of the planned offices will be extended from January 4, Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Saturday is the last day for Saturday appointments in many offices across the state.
Many residents can renew their licenses and ID cards online or by calling 1-866-357-3639.
If you have to extend your stay in person, you have to make appointments with an online appointment planner, which can be used to book appointments up to six months in advance.
